Footballing action returns this weekend for another round of incredibly exciting matches as every league in Europe continues to heat up. With the exceptionally hectic festive period now in the past, teams are settling into a more forgiving schedule, however, the games themselves are getting tougher with every passing week, with no side wanting to fall to a morale-sapping defeat. With this in mind, we have found a number of interesting bids for you to take a look at.

Saturday 13th January

15:00 BST Crystal Palace vs Burnley

Crystal Palace are looking to continue the impressive run of form that has seen them put space between themselves and the relegation zone. Their place at the bottom of the table seemed to have been sealed before Roy Hodgson arrived, with the former England manager leading them onto 22 points for the season so far. Two wins and just one defeat in their last five shows they are in good form. Burnley have been outstanding this season and they are looking to continue their rise. After 22 games the away side have picked up 34 points with nine wins. Sean Dyche’s men have been particularly effective on the road this season, and they will have their eyes firmly set on three points.

Tip: Away win @ 7/2

19:45 Deportivo La Coruna vs Valencia

Deportivo have been fighting against the jaws of relegation this season and it is a battle that will likely encompass the rest of their campaign. After 18 games they have won just four times, while they have conceded 35 goals this season. Valencia, on the other hand, have been the surprise package of the season and they are looking to solidify their place in the European spots. They have won 11 games, while they have scored 38 goals, the second highest in the league.

Tip: Away win @ 11/8

Sunday 14th January

15:15 Alaves vs Sevilla

Alaves have struggled massively this season and the players will be feeling a huge amount of pressure as they find themselves in the relegation zone as things stand. After 18 games they have won five and lost 13, while they are yet to draw a match, showing just how all or nothing they are. Sevilla on the other hand have been very steady this season without being particularly spectacular. 29 points from their 18 games means they are in the hunt for a Champions League place, but they have not won any of their last four games, meaning they need to turn their poor run around.

Tip: Away win @ 13/10

16:00 Liverpool vs Manchester City

What a game this could prove to be. Liverpool have won four of their last five and they are currently in fourth-place, just two points behind Chelsea. The 50 goals they have scored shows they have an incisive attack that will test Manchester City’s backline thoroughly. The visitors are the only side in the league that have scored more times than their hosts, netting 64 goals this season. Another win would see them maintain their 15 point lead, but they have been very poor at Anfield in recent years.

Tip: Home win @ 21/10

17:00 Borussia Dortmund vs Wolfsburg

Borussia Dortmund have been incredibly inconsistent this season, but they have managed to win both of their last two games. They were leading the Bundesliga as Bayern Munich were floundering, but the tables were then turned, and Dortmund are now playing catchup, with a 13 point gap between themselves and first-placed Bayern. Wolfsburg have been struggling this season and they are just four points clear of 17th-placed Hamburg. In their last five they have won just once, losing and drawing twice, while they have claimed just three wins all season.

Tip: Home win @ 2/5
