Sterling completes Manchester City switch

Manchester City have completed the signing of Raheem Sterling from Liverpool, according to Sky Sports.

The winger has been linked with a move away from Anfield since the end of last season, with City the clear front-runners in the race to secure his services.

After undergoing a medical on Tuesday afternoon, the transfer has now been confirmed leaving to 20 year old able to link up with Manuel Pellegrini’s side on their pre-season tour of Australia.

Having broken into Liverpool’s first team towards the end of the 2011/12 campaign, Sterling went on to make one hundred and twenty-nine appearances for the Merseyside club, scoring twenty-three goals.

He broke into England’s senior first team set up in 2012, the 20 year old has been capped sixteen times while his one and only goal for his country so far came in a 4-0 European Championships qualifying win over Lithuania back in March.
