West Brom eye Austin as Berahino replacement

West Bromwich Albion will move for Charlie Austin should they lose star striker Saido Berahino, according to the Express.

The Midlands club have rejected to bids for Berahino from the North London club, and an improved offer is expected within the next few days.

The 22 year old was left out of the squads for both Sunday’s league defeat to champions Chelsea and Tuesday evening’s League Cup second round clash with Hull City, leading to speculation that he will be allowed to leave, and manager Tony Pulis is on the lookout for reinforcements.

Like Berahino, Queens Park Rangers’ forward Austin has been strongly linked with a transfer this summer with a whole host of Premier League clubs eyeing a move to secure his services.

He has featured for the Hoops amidst uncertainty surrounding his future, and is currently the top scorer in the Championship with four goals in four appearances.
