Brisbane Roar thrashed rock-bottom Adelaide United 4-0 in Sunday’s A-League encounter at the Suncorp Stadium to return to winning ways after four consecutive 1-1 draws.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 28th minute when Tommy Oar found Thomas Kristensen with a fine cross, the Danish midfielder glancing a header past goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic into the far corner.

The same duo struck again just two minutes later to double Brisbane’s lead, with Kristensen producing a neat first-time finish after yet another assist from Oar following a quick counter-attack.

Things went from bad to worse for Adelaide – who won in the league for the first time this season last Sunday – after the interval, with Thomas Broich making it three 10 minutes into the second half after Dimitri Petratos’ free-kick, before Jamie Maclaren had the final say late on from the spot.
