Abramovich wants Guardiola at Chelsea; Manchester rivals battling for River Plate hotshot

Guardiola now wanted by Chelsea

Roman Abramovich is eager to bring Pep Guardiola to Chelsea next season when his contract with Barcelona expires.

The Russian billionaire has already decided to terminate Ancelotti’s contract at the end of the season and has instructed club officials to try and work out a deal for the Spanish tactician.

Guardiola’s contract with Barcelona expires at the end of the season and even though it can be automatically extended for another season if requested by the coach, Guardiola has yet to exercise that option.

The talented coach wasn’t able to build a good rapport with new president Rossel, after the pair failed to agree on several important matters regarding the team, and that could see Guardiola leave the club at the end of the season.

Roman Abramovich also wants Barca technical director Txiki Begeristain, who has already held three meetings with Chelsea executive director, Ron Gourley, but was unable to reach an agreement.

After the latest reports linking Guardiola to Manchester United and Chelsea, it now looks certain that the 39-year-old will leave Camp Nou at the end of the season, with the English giants set for a tough battle for the talented boss.

Manchester rivals battling for River Plate hotshot

Manchester United and Manchester City have expressed interest in River Plate striker Rogelio Funes Mori, and they are prepared to enter a real bidding war with other European sides.

United have already had their scouts watch the 19-year-old striker, but City have been quick to express their interest as well.

The Manchester rivals are not the only clubs keeping tabs on Rogelio Funes Mori as Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also interested in the young hitman.

Mori already has some experience of playing in England as he trained at Chelsea as a 12-year-old but was quickly snatched by River Plate, where he is now regarded as a first team regular, having scored 4 goals in 12 appearances this season.

While being a great prospect, Mori definitely lacks the experience needed to play in the Premiership, so he would definitely need a couple of years to adapt to the high standards of football in English top flight.

Borussia Dortmund to sign German wonder kid

High-flying Borussia Dortmund have agreed to sign 17-year-old Moritz Leitner from 1860 Munchen, for the fee of €600,000.

The German Under-19 midfielder will join his new teammates next summer, when he will sign a four-year contract with the Bundesliga side.

Despite his tender age, Leitner has already earned a starting place at 1860 Munchen, and that was more than enough for one of the best Bundesliga coaches, Jurgen Klopp, to be alerted to the youngster’s potential.

“He is an outstanding talent,” said Klopp.

Litner himself was glad he could stay to help his current side in the remainder of the season.

“I am proud. And it is important for me to be able to help Lions in difficult times.’
