The Italian full-back arrived at Barcelona following the Calciopoli scandal, but he has failed to settle in and reach peak form while at the Catalan club. Now AC Milan are trying to take him back to his homeland as they look to rebuild a squad which has had a horrible couple of seasons on the domestic stage.
The bid that AC Milan are willing to make is rumoured to be in the region of £4 million, which comes £3 million short of Barcelona’s evaluation of their player.
Barcelona is currently trying to renovate their squad as well and they have already made some changes in the defensive department, but it is though that their evaluation of Gianluca Zambrotta might have something to do with the value of his replacement.
Earlier this week, Sevilla have rejected a £20 million bid for Daniel Alves, which was said to be £5 million short of the asking price and Barcelona are one of the clubs known to be interested in the Brazilian right back.
