AC Milan in failed bid for Ciro Immobile

Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that AC Milan made a late attempt to bring Ciro Immobile to San Siro this summer.

The Rossoneri were unable to add another high-profile centre forward to their ranks and it has now been revealed that they tried to sign the Biancocelesti star.

However, Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito didn’t want to hear about selling his prized asset, meaning the talks never advanced past the opening stage.

Ciro Immobile managed to kick-start his career at Stadio Olimpico following disappointing spells with Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla, bagging 23 league goals last term.

The 27-year-old also impressed to score 6 goals in eight 2018 World Cup qualifiers for Italy, scoring the winner in the 1-0 triumph over Israel on Tuesday.

The interesting thing is that Lazio face none other than AC Milan on Sunday afternoon, with Immobile priced at 21/20 to score anytime.
