AC Milan target Arsenal striker Adebayor

AC Milan are looking to bring a world class striker into their squad after a disappointing season. Samuel Eto’o and Didier Drogba have been mentioned as potential targets for Carlo Ancelotti, and now Emmanuel Adebayor is on that short-list.

The Arsenal striker has had an impressive season and attracted the interest of several top teams outside of England. Goal.com now thinks that AC Milan have already agreed personal terms with the player and all that is left to be done is agree on a transfer fee with Arsenal.

The sum that the Gunners are thought to be after is €40 million, the same Goal.com reports. And, although the price tag is quite outrageous, the AC Milan bosses would be willing to break the bank on the Togolese striker.

This news could come as a bit of a shock to the Arsenal fans who last week heard their brilliant striker say that he would like to stay at the Emirates Stadium. However, given van Perise’s concession last week that Arsenal do not pay their players enough, it should come as no surprise if Adebayor does join up with former team mate Matthieu Flamini.

Nicky….I agree with you! His play has always been uneasy! You’re not sure what type of player is going to show up. Despite the 30 goals last season, we forget to count the the missed opportunities to score, even easy goals. I bet the ratio of goals scored vs. opportunities to score, is one that will be lop-sided towards “what could have been” points, instead of being the top goal scorer. I say lets get rid of him….LET HIM GO!!!

30 goals last season, some of them out of this world. And yet I keep having an uneasy feeling about much of his play. I wouldn’t be too unhappy about a big sell and then await a big spend by Le Patron!!

How many times do big Ade, Cesc, GC et al have to say that they are not leaving? These stories reflect really poorly on those continue to run them.

When the Flamster wouldn’t sign in Jan08 it was obvious he was going. Ditto Hleb with his midnight icecream. For some players (like these two or Diarra, its all about the money and their own careers?. For the great players its a balance between their own careers and making history with a club. A Ramsey take note or end up like SWP at Chelsea.

Ade isn’t going. And thats, that.
