AC Milan unlikely to sign new players in January

Italian giants AC Milan may be forced to postpone their plans to reinforce the squad due to a delay in proposed club takeover, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The deal was expected to be closed on 13th December, in which case new owners would make considerable funds available for January signings, but the latest reports suggest that the takeover is likely to be delayed for a month.

This basically means that the Rossoneri will have no money to spend in the upcoming transfer window, and that could seriously damage their chances of achieving a top three finish.

AC Milan were hoping to recruit the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Sebastian Rudy, Mateo Musacchio and Balde Diao Keita, among others, but, as things stand now, none of the players from their shortlist will be joining in January.

But, even though the Rossoneri face an uphill task to secure Champions League qualification, they can be backed at 6/4 to finish in top 3.
