AC Milan, Wolfsburg keen on Bundesliga starlet

AC Milan and Wolfsburg are among clubs hot on the trail of Mainz midfielder Johannes Geis, Bild can reveal.

The 21-year-old has shown a great deal of promise since arriving from Greuther Furth almost two years back and is already regarded a key member of the squad.

His impressive displays did not go unnoticed as AC Milan, Wolfsburg, Schalke and Borussia M’gladbach are all believed to be keen in the midfielder’s services.

Geis has a contract until June 2017 with the Bundesliga strugglers and is valued at €10 million, but his future could depend on the outcome of Mainz’s season.

Namely, the Carnival club are heavily involved in the relegation tussle and they probably would not be able to keep hold of their prized possession unless they can avoid the drop.

Jonathan Geis, who prefers playing in the centre of the park, has made a total of 57 Bundesliga appearances from Mainz and scored 4 goals.
