AC Milan defender Francesco Acerbi is confident his side can secure a top-three finish in Serie A despite some high-profile cuts to their squad.
Milan have lost players such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva and Alessandro Nesta during the off-season.
Acerbi, 24, made his first appearance for Milan since his move from Chievo in their 3-0 win over Bologna, and is hoping his team can build on that result to have a positive season.
“We are Milan, and when you play in a club like this, you must play to win or finish in second or third position,” he told Sky Italia.
“We are a new group, and we are growing day by day. It is difficult to substitute Nesta and Thigao Silva, but I’m working hard to reach a good level.”
Milan host Atalanta on Saturday as they look to maintain their good form.
