The man that racially abused Paul Ifill during Adelaide United’s 3-1 over Wellington Phoenix has been banned for two years.
FFA has announced the Adelaide man will be barred from any football match run by the Australian governing body for two years after he was found guilty of breaching the FFA Spectator Code of Behaviour on Sunday December 16.
Ifill reported having been racially abused as he was subbed off in the 60th minute at Hindmarsh Stadium.
Under the FFA Spectator Code of Behaviour, clause C states patrons at A-League matches must ‘respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability, race, colour, religion, language, politics, national or ethnic origin’.
Adelaide United have also cancelled the membership held by the man.
