Adelaide United have signed promising striker Tomi Juric from NK Inter Zapresic for the rest of the A-League season.
The Sydney-born 21-year-old will arrive in Adelaide on Tuesday, having made 12 appearances – largely off the bench – this Prva HNL season.
Standing at 189cm, Juric offers another option for interim United coach Michael Valkanis, with Jeronimo Neumann the only fit forward at the club.
The Reds allowed Sergio van Dijk to depart in January, while Bruce Djite has struggled with injury since the turn of the year.
“I think it’s a great opportunity to bring in a very good young player who has been playing at a high level in Croatia,” Valkanis said.
“Being short at the top of the end of the park after losing Sergio van Dijk to Indonesia, it’s good to have another option in attack. He’s still only young but he’s got great potential and is a player who I’m sure will help us in our endeavours to win some silverware this season.”
Juric failed to find the back of the net at Inter this season, but fared far better in his spell with NK Lokomotiva last campaign, scoring three goals in nine starts.
