Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Rene Adler is set to leave the club on a free transfer, according to a report.
The 27-year-old shot-stopper’s contract at Leverkusen expires in mid-year, and Kicker has reported Adler is bound for fellow Bundesliga club Hamburg on a four-year deal.
It appears Adler has wanted out of the club since losing his spot in the first XI to Bernd Leno.
Hamburg have been linked with the Germany international for some time, as they are looking to replace Jaroslav Drobny in goal, with Adler’s signature a mere formality.
Both parties have allegedly already agreed terms, and Adler is expected to sign his contract in the next 48 hours.
Adler is a product of the Leverkusen youth academy and has made over 150 official appearances for the BayArena outfit.
