Inter’s Brazilian striker Adriano has received a three-match ban after he punched an opponent in last Serie A’s match between the Nerazzurri and Sampdoria; and Inter won 1-0 thanks to a goal from the striker himself.

The referee did not notice the aggressive act, and so the judgement fell on the shoulders of the Sporting Judge Gianpaolo Tosel, who dished out the ban.

Mourinho, too, was sent off yesterday after saying something to the referee, which was inappropriate and the Portuguese coach was dismissed to the stand. As a result he has also been awarded a one-match touchline ban.
