Adrien Rabiot wants Roma switch; Frankfurt eye Piazon stay

Adrien-Rabiot

Out-of-favour Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot is unsure whether he will play for the club again amid reports linking him with a move to Italian Serie A side Roma.

PSG boss Laurent Blanc has preferred the midfield trio of Blaise Matuidi, Marco Verratti, and Thiago Motta, while Yohan Cabaye has been the substitute of choice.

Rabiot has admitted he wanted to join Roma in the summer transfer window, and will now wait to ‘see what happens’ in January.

“Roma was my choice and I thought that I would have moved there. I don’t understand what happened to make the negotiations fail,” Rabiot told Canal Plus.

“AS Roma are a great club, now I’ll wait to see what happens in the January market.

“I don’t know if I will play again for PSG, I’m available for the coach and he will decide. Competition does not scare me, even in Roma there are so many great players. ”

On other other side, Roma have also confirmed their interest in the 19-year-old maestro.

“Rabiot? We are interested in quality players,” Garcia said.

“Some are accessible and others not much. Until January he must remain at PSG, but then…”

The Giallorossi will face competition from English Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea for the France Under-21 international’s signature.

Frankfurt eye Piazon stay

Bundeslia side Eintracht Frankfurt are hoping to extend the loan spell of Chelsea starlet Lucas Piazon for another season.

At the moment, Piazon, who spent last season on loan at Vitesse, is behind the likes of André Schürrle, Eden Hazard, Loïc Rémy, Mohamed Salah, Oscar, Ramires, and Willian in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Additionally, the Brazil youth international faces competition from Christian Atsu, Cristián Cuevas, and Thorgan Hazard.

In other words, it will not be easy to break into the Blues’ first-team in the near future.

Frankfurt have been impressed by the 20-year-old thus far and would be open to taking him on loan for the 2015/16 campaign.

“Definitely, we will be looking to discuss things with Chelsea,” Frankfurt general manager Bruno Hubner told BILD.

“Chelsea might hand him another loan year at our club.

“That would be what we are looking for because I think the Bundesliga is currently the best platform for Lucas Piazon.

“He can add a certain physical toughness to his game and will be able to make a big step if he learns to become a starter in the Bundesliga.”

Piazon has scored one goal–a free-kick match-winner in the 90th-minute against Hamburg last month–in five Bundesliga appearances this season.
