Zenit St Petersburg and manager Dick Advocaat will soon be signing a new deal. This was unveiled by the Dutchman on Friday.
The news comes as a bit of a surprise as it was only a month ago that Advocaat said that a return to his home country was likely before the end of the season.
But zenit have done better since then and even have a chance of playing European football next season.
“Yes, I will sign. Our aim is to win the title next year,” he said.
Advocaat has managed the Russian side since June 2006, and led them to a domestic title and the UEFA Cup.
