Malaysian side Selangor and Syrian outfit Shorta progressed to the AFC Cup knockout stages with tough wins on Tuesday.

Selangor needed a win and other results to go their way in Group H, and they got the job done with an entertaining 3-2 win over the Tampine Rovers in Singapore.

Mohd Amri Yahyah scored a brace, including the 76th-minute winner, to lift Selangor into second place in the group.

Penn Orji’s double saw Indian side East Bengal thrash Xuan Thanh Sai Gon 4-1, a result which eliminated the Vietnamese team.

Shorta finished second in Group D after their 3-1 win over Ravshan in Khujand and Al Ramtha’s 2-2 draw against Al Qadsia in Kuwait City.

In Group C, Al Faisaly finished top as an Abdallah Mohannad goal gave them a 1-0 win over Duhok in Amman.

Al Sha’ab Ibb ended up without a point at the bottom after their 1-0 loss at home to Dhufar.

Kelantan and Da Nang confirmed their progress from Group G with victories over the bottom two sides.

Malaysia’s Kelantan were 3-1 winners at home to Ayeyawady United, while a Sebastian Merlo hat-trick guided Da Nang to a 3-1 victory over Maziya.
