Three-time champions Singapore have qualified for the final of the AFF Suzuki Cup after defeating the Philippines 1-0.
After a goalless first leg in Manila, Singapore clinched their first final berth since 2007 thanks to Khairul Amri’s fine strike on Wednesday.
The Singapore Lions attacker received the ball in the left channel and curled an impressive shot inside the far post to give his country the lead in the 19th minute.
The home side dominated the second leg in Singapore and will now meet either Thailand or Malaysia in the two-legged final of the South East Asian competition.
Malaysia and Thailand drew 1-1 in the opening leg of their semi-final and will play the second leg in Bangkok on Thursday.
