Agent claims Inter and Zenit keen on Kone

The agent of Bologna midfielder Panagiotis Kone has revealed that Inter Milan and Zenit have inquired about his client.

Kone, 25, has been in fine form this season, scoring 5 Serie A goals for il Felsinei, and his impressive showings did not go unnoticed.

According to the player’s representative, Inter Milan and Zenit are keeping close tabs on the highly rated midfielder.

“Inter Milan and Russian Zenit contacted me regarding the possibly acquisition of Kone,” agent Lorenzo Marronaro confessed to Izvestia.

There was not enough time to complete the deal in the winter transfer window, but the two clubs are expected to return for the Greece international in the summer.

Zenit are eager to rejuvenate their midfield with Sergei Semak and Konstantin Zyryanov nearing the end of their playing days, and they believe Kone is the man for the job.

Inter, on the other hand, aim to continue signing young and talented footballers and the Greek footballer definitely falls into that category.

It only remains to be seen whether Bologna chiefs will be prepared to let the Albanian-born midfielder leave the club in the summer.
