A representative of Santos star Ganso has said it is time for the 22-year-old playmaker to make the move to Europe.
Portuguese champions Porto had an offer for the Brazil international rejected earlier last week, with Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro labelling the bid ‘comical’.
Despite this, agent Diogo Kotscho feels the amount offered by the Estadio do Dragao outfit was not as ludicrous as Ribeiro claimed and expects talks between the clubs will continue.
“What he (Ribeiro) said was an overstatement,” Kotscho told OJOGO.
“We are talking about a negotiation which is not over yet. In fact, it has just begun. Porto’s offer must have not been that low if DIS, the company which holds 55 percent of his economic rights, was satisfied.”
“I do not know the figure in question, but I am sure the offer is neither tragic, nor comical.”
“The clubs must come to an understanding first. Between Porto and Ganso it would be easy to reach an agreement. It is time for him to leave.”
“Porto always play in the Champions League and win titles. The Portuguese Liga is also very interesting and this is very important.”
“Porto are a great showcase because they play in a lot of competitions. Besides that, the language make it easier for a young player like him to settle.”
Ganso, a part of the Santos side that finished runners-up to Barcelona in the 2011 Club World Cup, has seven caps for his national side.
