New York Red Bulls sporting director Jeff Agoos could win his sixth title if they manage to win the MLS Cup on Sunday.
Agoos won the MLS Cup with D.C. United as a player in 1996, 1997 and 1999 and won it in 2001 and 2003 with the San Jose Earthquakes.
“It’s much more nerve-wracking. It’s much better to be a player, always,” the sporting director said. “You are much more directly linked to what you’ve done. I’d trade it all in to be on the field on Sunday.”
Agoos added on his titles: “You love them all the same, but they’re all different. It would be different in a much different way this time. I think we worry about that on Sunday and if we put out the best effort we can, I’ll be happy with the result.”
