Sky Sports are reporting that Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen could complete a move to Tottenham within the next few days.
The highly-rated 25-year-old is a man in demand this summer, with many of Europe’s top clubs interested in his signature.
It appears that Tottenham are winning the race though with Vertonghen saying: “I probably know which team I will be going to.”
He then nodded and said ‘Yes’ when it was asked whether the club in question was Tottenham.
However, the player has taken to Twitter to state that not everything is quite this straight forward.

As with many transfer stories, this looks set to be one that could drag on for a little while yet.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp may have to be patient before completing a deal for the defender as he looks to improve on his squad for next season.
Other transfer rumours involving Tottenham include the fact that they are no longer interested in Brazilian defender Bruno Uvini.
One thing seems likely at this stage. Redknapp is getting involved in transfer dealings early in an attempt to have his Tottenham squad together by the time pre-season comes around.
