A report from Eurosport has revealed that Ajax has smashed the Dutch transfer record after agreeing a £12.8 million fee with Heerenveen for highly-rated Serbian forward Miralem Sulejmani.
Ajax has now confirmed on their official website that they will pay Heerenveen 16.25 million euros.
The previous transfer record also involved a deal between Ajax and Heerenveen, with Klaas Jan Huntelaar going to Amsterdam for 9 million euros.
The 19-year-old has been playing in the Eredivisie since 2006 and last season he scored 16 goals in 34 games for Heerenveen, picking up the Johan Cruyff award for Talent of the Year along the way. Also, he has already made his international debut for native Serbia.
