Alan Hutton is relishing life in La Liga and is hopeful of avoiding the drop with Mallorca this season.
The Scotland international full-back has been a virtual ever-present in the first team at the Iberostar Stadium since moving there on loan from Aston Villa during the January transfer window.
This weekend, the 28-year-old is set to line-up in a crucial relegation battle that will see 18th-placed Mallorca travel to bottom-placed Real Zaragoza for a clash that will go a long way to determining who manages to beat the drop.
Speaking about his switch from the wilderness at Villa Park to marking the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Radamel Falcao, Hutton told STV that it was a no-brainer for him to move.
“All you have to do is look at the weather, see the league and you’ll understand why this is my first choice,” he explained.
