Vice president of the Italian Football Federation Demetrio Albertini has thrown his support behind under-fire AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Milan are enduring an awful start to the 2012/13 season, sitting in 15th place in the Serie A table, having accumulated just seven points from eight games.
And their recent Champions League loss to Malaga on Wednesday evening will have done nothing to ease the load on the trainer’s shoulders.
However, Albertini, a five-time Scudetto winner with the club himself, has stressed the importance of keeping faith in the current regime.
“You just keep Allegri. In a project, the balance point is the coach and it is right that we work together to strengthen,” he told Corriere dello Sport.
“The difficulties are understandable considering a change in market strategies determined by the financial statements.
“The results are there for all to see, but it is also true that it takes time to grow young players.”
