Alberto Gilardino finally finds new club

Italian striker Alberto Gilardino has signed a contract with Serie B side Spezia, the club have announced.

The 35-year-old arrives on a free transfer and he will wear the number 10 shirt at his 11th club in Italy.

Gilardino spent some time training with Montreal Impact and was also offered to Crystal Palace after his contract with Pescara had come to an end.

However, he eventually penned a contract with Spezia, who occupy 11th place in the Serie B standings after 7 games.

With the team having managed mere 4 goals in the new league campaign, Gilardino will be expected to seriously improve the goalscoring record.
