La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Alessio Cerci will join Genoa in the January transfer window.
The Rossoblu are set to stay without star player Diego Perotti, who will complete a move to AS Roma in the coming days, and they believe the Atletico Madrid winger will be a very good replacement.
Cerci is expected to cut his loan deal with AC Milan short and sign for Genoa on loan until the end of the season.
The Italy international has struggled for form ever since he left Torino in favour of joining Atletico Madrid, and he has failed to kick-start his career at San Siro.
Cerci has only managed 1 goal in 28 Serie A appearances for AC Milan, and his spell with the Rossoneri will soon come to an end.
His suitors Genoa square off with local rivals Sampdoria tomorrow evening and they have been made 5/4 favourites to win Derby della Lanterna.
