The Independent understands that Arsenal are set to offer Alexis Sanchez a new deal which will see him usurp Mesut Ozil as the club’s top earner.
The Gunners are currently in talks with the Chile international, who has been highly impressive since arriving in North London from Barcelona last summer.
The twenty-six year old has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal which sees him earn £130,000 per week while the proposed offer would he those wages rise to £155,000 per week.
Sanchez has played sixty-nine times for Arsene Wenger’s side, scoring thirty-two goals and has been part of a squad that has won back-to-back FA Cups.
He won his ninety-first cap for his country as they lost 3-0 to Uruguay in the World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday evening and is now just eight short of teammate Claudio Bravo’s appearance record.
Arsenal travel to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon and Sanchez is priced at 4/1 to open the scoring.
