AZ Alkmaar added another win to their account, beating Roda JC 1-0 at DSB Stadium. FC Twente move into second place thanks to a 4-1 win over NAC Breda.

Mounir El Hamdaoui scored the only goal of the match between AZ and Roda after 76 minutes.

Louis van Gaal’s side now has an 11-point advantage over Ajax but a new rival has appeared as Twente are the new numbers two in the Dutch league, trailing the leaders by nine points.

Marko Arnautovich, Peter Wisgerhof, Eljero Elia and Romano Denneboom scored for the home side, and only Fouad Idabdelhay could do something back for the visitors.

In the 100th Rotterdam derby, Feyenoord beat Sparta 1-0 thanks to a first-half goal from Diego Biseswar.
