All or nothing for Guidolin´s Udinese

Udinese manager Francesco Guidolin has described their final Europa League group match against Celtic as a ‘final’.

The joint-Serie A leaders require just a draw to qualify for the tournament’s knockout phase at the expense of the Scottish Premier League club, with Atletico Madrid of La Liga already through in Group I.

However, a Celtic victory on Thursday would send them through by way of their head-to-head record.

And Guidolin believes his side will need to be at their best if they are to beat the Glasgow giants.

“We’ll try to our best to qualify, it’s very important for us and we would like to qualify, as do Celtic, I imagine. It will be like a final so we need to be ready for it,” Guidolin said.

“We need to be at our best to beat such a strong team. They’ll be prepared. They have a long tradition and are definitely more experienced than us.”

“The first game (at Celtic, which ended 1-1) doesn’t count for much, because tomorrow we’ll be in or out, so from a tactical and psychological point of view it will be a completely different match.”

“We can only say we know some of Celtic’s players a bit better, but it will be a completely different match tomorrow.”
