Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso admits he is still interested in a move to Serie A side Juventus.
Alonso also reveals that the reason why Juventus did not sign him in the summer, is because the directors at the club wanted Christian Poulsen instead.
“Juventus is Juventus and they are the most important club in Italy but as a player, you can never be disappointed at Liverpool,” Alonso told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Certain things happened in the summer and I appreciated the directors honesty at the club. They told me that they would be doing things differently on the pitch and they decided to go for Poulsen instead of me.
“These things happen in football. I could have signed for Juve but I didn’t because they went for someone else.
“However, to be totally honest, the attraction on my part has remained intact. I like that way they [Juve] have been building. I like the directors and everything else there.”
