Barcelona full-back Dani Alves has again called for Santos prodigy Neymar to join the Camp Nou side.
Neymar is one of the most sought after talents in world football, and Alves – who rejected suggestions he had put Neymar in touch with team-mate Lionel Messi – wants the 20-year-old to further his career in Barca colours.
“I haven’t put Neymar in contact with Leo Messi,” Alves said.
“Obviously anybody would want to play for Barcelona. If Barcelona are interested in Neymar and if next month, next year or in two years he comes, I don’t know.
“I hope he does come here because, as I’ve already said, he would get better as a player and he would also improve the team.”
Barcelona are away to Mallorca on Sunday, looking to put their midweek defeat at Celtic in the Champions League behind them.
Alves, who has been out injured with a thigh problem, should return for the match even though his place in the team is under increasing pressure from youngster Martin Montoya.
“When I play a lot at the level that I am used to, it bothers me,” he said.
“Of the matches I have played, I think I have been out of form. I am not happy. It is not what I want. I am working finding my best physical form and the rest will then come together.”
