The agent of Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini has stated that West Ham are interested in a move for the veteran midfielder.
Ambrosini, 35, is out of contract at San Siro at the end of the month and the Upton Park outfit, who have secured their Premier League status for another year, are believed to have offered the former Italy international a two-year contract.
Ambrosini had previously been expected to finish his career with the Serie A giants, but there have been suggestions he could be tempted by a move abroad.
The midfielder’s representative Moreno Roggi confirmed the London club have expressed an interest, but stressed there had been no offer of a contract at this stage.
He said: “There is interest from West Ham and it’s a real interest, like that of other English, German and American teams, although there have not been concrete contacts.
“But, like every year, the first thing Massimo will do at the end of the season is speak with Adriano Galliani (Milan Chief Executive).”
Ambrosini has spent 18 years with Milan, helping them to a multitude of titles including four Serie A wins and two UEFA Champions League titles.
However, his opportunities have been limited in recent times, with manager Massimiliano Allegri handing him only 24 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
