Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti has refuted claims Zlatan Ibrahimovic has asked to leave the club in the off-season.

The Swedish star has been linked with a move away from the French capital, with former club Juventus said to be vying for his signature.

He admitted recently he misses life in Italy and refused to rule out an off-season exit but Ancelotti, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, says he will be staying put.

“This is not true. He did not ask to leave the club. Our relationship is good, as it is with other players,” he told reporters after his side’s 3-1 win over Lorient.

The 53-year-old said he would like to replace Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid but insisted there were no new developments concerning his own future.

“Everybody knows my situation. There is nothing new to tell you. No news is good news and I agree with that expression,” Ancelotti said.

“Have the players asked me to stay? That is between me and the club, nobody else. There are no plans to rendezvous with some players either.”

PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi said the constant speculation surrounding Ancelotti had been no distraction for the players.

“We got the results, so it did not disturb us,” he said.

“You will have to talk with him, we did our job until the end, even though the last training sessions were quite relaxed because we celebrated winning the title.

“On the pitch we got the results so it’s good. Then of course we all hope that the coach will stay, but if he does have to go, it’s his choice.”
