Ancelotti happy with routine PSG win

Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti was satisfied with his team’s comfortable 2-0 victory away to Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday.

Goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Jeremy Menez earned the French side all three points and took them second in Group A, three points clear of Dynamo Kiev, who lost 3-2 at group leaders Porto.

PSG trail group leaders Porto by three points, but have a chance to close the gap when they host Dinamo at the Parc des Princes on November 6.

“We are very satisfied,” Ancelotti said.

“We had a good attitude, we controlled the game. It was not amazing but it was a good match.”

“We could have scored more but this is a good result and a good performance. Ibra (Ibrahimovic) scored an important goal but it is true that he was less accurate than usual in front of goal.

“Our position in the group is good. There are three matches remaining and we hope to reach nine points before playing against Kiev and Porto. It would give us a very good possibility (of qualifying).”

Brazilian defender Alex was substituted at half-time, but Ancelotti said his withdrawal was precautionary, and is not expecting the centre-back to be sidelined for their next Ligue 1 clash.

“Alex had knee pain, nothing too serious but he could not continue,” he said.

“This is why Camara entered. We did not want to take any chances. I think he will be available against Nancy.”
