Ancelotti: No quick fix for PSG

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti has warned it may get worse before it gets better for Paris Saint-Germain ahead of their trip to Nice.

Ancelotti’s side have won just one of their past four matches in Ligue 1, while 10th-placed Nice are undefeated in the same period.

Nice have also been strong at home this season with just one defeat in seven games at Stade Municipal du Ray ahead of the visit of third-placed PSG and Ancelotti knows it will be a tough task for his team to get a positive result.

“Nice play well, especially at home,” Ancelotti said.

“They are a team who are very good in front of the goal, very offensive.

“It’s going to be difficult because like I said, they usually win at home.

“They have a very experienced coach so it won’t be easy.”

PSG did win their most recent league fixture, thumping Troyes 4-0, but were knocked out of the Coupe de la Ligue by Saint-Etienne on Tuesday in their last outing.

But Ancelotti remains convinced his players can turn their form around and prove themselves to be a top-line team.

“The players have the confidence and the attitude in order to be a top team,” Ancelotti said.

“At the moment we are not a top level one but we are working on it.

“What we did at the beginning of the season wasn’t great but not bad either.

“There is the Champions League and we still have the chance to win the trophy this season … we still have to improve a lot but so far we have shown something positive.”
