Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has explained that he doesn’t plan to make a move on Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.
The Italy international has been heavily linked with a January move to Parc des Princes, especially after he clashed with Roma boss Zdenek Zeman.
Paris Saint-Germain were believed to be preparing an official bid for the player’s services, but Carlo Ancelotti has moved to deny the claims.
“De Rossi has never been a hot target,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia. “We have never thought about him, also because we don’t need to sign anyone else.”
Ancelotti also poured cold water on rumours linking Javier Pastore with a return to Italian Serie A.
“Pastore to Inter is a story which has popped up because of the Argentine’s recent problems,” Ancelotti added.
“He had a good start to the season, but then things halted. Nevertheless, he is s player who can certainly make the difference for our club.”
Despite the heavy summer spending, Paris Saint-Germain have experienced numerous problems in Ligue 1 this season, and they currently sit no less than five points behind leaders Lyon.
On the other hand, the Saints have done really well in their Champions League campaign, with Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Porto seeing them qualify to the knockout stages from the top of their group.
