Andres Iniesta linked with MLS switch

Spanish media outlet Don Balon claims that Barcelona star Andres Iniesta is being linked with a summer move to Major League Soccer.

The veteran midfielder has a deal until June 2018 at Camp Nou, and the Catalans are prepared to offer their star player a lifetime contract that would see him take up an executive role at the club when he ends his playing career.

However, Don Balon has suggested that a move to MLS is also a realistic possibility, as Iniesta’s former teammate David Villa wants the Barcelona hotshot to join him in the United States.

It remains to be seen whether Iniesta will be interested in a switch to Major League Soccer, but he is probably inclined to accept the new offer from Barcelona and remain loyal to his current employers.

The attacking midfielder has been at Camp Nou since 1996, making 393 La Liga appearances and scoring 34 goals.
