Shangai Shenhua forward Nicolas Anelka has started training with Paris Saint-Germain in an attempt to stay in shape during the off season in China.
PSG sporting director Leonardo confirmed the Frenchman had been allowed to train at Parc des Princes, but refuse to comment on the speculations linking the Saints with a move for the player.
“Anelka asked to train with us. We are at his disposal to help him maintain the shape in the coming days,” Leonardo was quoted as saying in France Football.
Anelka, 33, has been disappointed with the start of his career in China and he is reportedly eager to return to Europe.
The Frenchman surprised everyone when he snubbed offers from top European clubs to join Shangai Shenhua and it appears he has now regretted the decision.
Anelka has recently been linked with Premier League clubs West Ham and QPR, but several Ligue 1 clubs are also keen.
The former France international has scored just 3 goals in 22 appearances for Shanghai since joining the club on a free transfer from Chelsea.
