Roma left-back Jose Angel has revealed that he would be interested in a move to Portuguese giants Benfica.
The 22-year-old joined Roma from Sporting Gijon at the start of last season but with Zdenek Zeman replacing Luis Enrique as coach, doubts have been cast over the Spaniard’s future in the team.
“On the possibility of going to Benfica, what I know is what the press publishes. Nobody in Rome told me anything, nor was I contacted by anyone from Benfica,” Angel told Record.
“But it is a great club and it would be a fantastic opportunity for me to play there.”
Angel made 27 Serie A appearances in an underwhelming 2011/12 season for Roma and has reportedly attracted the attentions of Valencia, Espanyol and Granada.
