Inter Milan could soon announce the first high-profile signing of the summer as they are closing in on Lazio winger Antonio Candreva, according to Sky Sport Italia.
Just a week ago it looked as though the Italy international would be joining Napoli as the two clubs reached an agreement over the transfer fee, but the player’s high wage demands eventually proved a stumbling block.
Inter Milan appear to have taken advantage of the situation, offering €20 million for the highly rated footballer, and even though Lazio are holding out for €25 million, the Nerazzurri should eventually agree on the transfer fee with their league rivals.
Having struggled to attract high-quality footballers to his ranks this summer, Roberto Mancini is desperate to lure Antonio Candreva to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
The 29-year-old has been one of the best players in Italian Serie A over the years, while he managed 45 goals and as many assists in 192 competitive outings for Lazio.
