Argentine starlet on Liverpool radar

Liverpool are among the clubs showing interest in Estudiantes midfielder Gaston Gil Romero, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

The Reds have been alerted of the player’s potential and they continue to monitor his performances with a view of luring him to Anfield in the near future.

Romero has recently signed a contract extension with the Argentine giants and is now tied to the club until June 2017.

The 20-year-old came through the youth ranks at Estudiantes and quickly managed to nail down a regular starting berth.

He has become one of club’s most consistent performers having spent full 90 minutes on the pitch in 18 of 19 league fixtures this season, scoring one goal in the process.

The holding midfielder is predicted a bright future in the game and it appears it is only a matter of time before he leaves his current employers for a top European club.
