Arsenal and Everton battle for Berahino

Daily Mail has suggested that Arsenal and Everton are among clubs showing interest in West Bromwich starlet Saido Berahino.

The 20-year-old has exploded onto the biggest stage this season, scoring 4 goals in 2 Capital One Cup matches before also registering a goal at Old Trafford at the weekend.

As a result, he is set to be rewarded with a new and improved contract at the Hawthorns, but a number of Premiership sides are looking to snatch the youngster before he commits his long-term future to the Baggies.

Given that his current deal, worth just  £850 per week, is due to expire at the end of the season, Berahino will be free to negotiate a Bosman deal from 1st January.

It is believed that in case the player leaves the club next summer, West Brom will be due around £300,000 in compensation, so no wonder they are desperate to persuade Berahino to sign a contract extension.
