Gonzalo Higuain’s father has confirmed that Juventus are vying with Arsenal for the Real Madrid striker’s signature.
It had been reported that the Premier League outfit had agreed terms with the 25-year-old, with manager Arsene Wenger eager to boost his forward line ahead of the new season.
However, Jorge Higuain admitted that the Serie A club are not out of the running and that Real will have the final say on the Argentinian’s future.
“Real Madrid will make the final decision,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Nothing has been signed yet, but I can assure you that an agreement with both Arsenal and Juventus has almost been reached.
“No deal will be signed until one of the interested clubs reaches an agreement with Real Madrid.
“I’m sure that both Arsenal and Juventus will table serious bids.”
Higuain made 44 appearances last term, scoring 18 goals.
