Arsenal better than ‘old’ Chelsea – Denílson

SoccerNews in English Premier League 20 Sep 2010

(GSM) – Arsenal midfielder Denílson believes they have the best squad in the league despite their draw at Sunderland, last Saturday.

The Gunners are four points behind league leaders Chelsea, with the rivals due to meet at Stamford Bridge on Sunday 3rd October.

“Arsenal are the best team,” Denílson said after the draw at Sunderland.

“We have the players and we have the touch. Chelsea have very strong players but they are old.

“This was just one game, we are still in a good position – and we play like Barcelona. Arsenal are going to win a trophy this season.”

The Brazilian midfielder insists the draw at Sunderland, which came courtesy of a last-minute equaliser from Darren Bent, was not a disaster.

“You can’t expect to win at Sunderland,” he said.

“Sunderland have beaten the best sides here; it was always going to be a big game. It’s always difficult, it’s a tough place to play but I still think we can win the Premier League. You can’t use this one result to say we’re not ready.”

Arsenal need experienced players. Their crop of inexperienced players burn out in February and or have 6 players on the injury list. The team does not have a strong bench and cannot be compared to Chelsea in any way. While Arsenal is bein thrifty Chelsea is adding experience to their squad and excusing older players for strength and continuity.

Daam that’s a lot of chirping for one bird…

“…And we play like Barcelona.”?

That’s what you’re riding on Denilson? Really? Man, I don’t know how Wenger puts up with these youngsters sometimes, but more power to him.
