Arsenal flop set for Ligue 1 return

Arsenal forward Park Chu-Young looks set to return to French Ligue 1, L’Equipe has suggested on Friday.

The Korean striker is back at the Emirates after his loan spell at Celta Vigo came to an end, but chances are he will be offloaded by the time the transfer window closes.

A return to France appears on the cards as Saint Etienne, Lorient and Rennes are all believed to be keen on the 28-year-old attacker.

Park has played his best football in France’s top flight, scoring 25 goals in 91 league appearances for Monaco before joining Arsenal in the summer of 2011.

The South Korea international utterly failed to prove his worth at the Emirates, making just one substitute appearance in the Premier League.

He has, however, kept his starting berth in the national team and went on to score 6 goals in 7 2014 World Cup qualifiers for one of Asia’s top sides.
