Arsenal keen on Lascelles

Arsenal are lining up a move for Nottingham Forest centre back Jamaal Lascelles, according to the Mirror.

The 20 year old, who has represented England at U18, U19 and U20 level, is one of the most highly rated players in the Championship, and this season has been a key part of Billy Davies’ side’s promotion push thus far.

Since making his first appearances of the season in the 3-1 defeat to Yeovil Town back in October, the 20 year old has missed just two league games, forming a solid defensive partnership with Jack Hobbs.

He had made just three league appearances for the East Midlands club before this season, and spent the second half of the 2011/12 on loan with Stevenage, helping them claim a play-off position in League One.

Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Lascelles, though Forest will not let him go without a fight as they seek a return to the Premier League following a fifteen year absence.
