Arsenal keen to keep hold of Campbell

Arsenal are set to offer Joel Campbell a contract extension, according to the Telegraph.

The Costa Rica international was on the verge of leaving the North London outfit in the summer, but has impressed after being given an opportunity in the first team this season.

He has played eighteen times for the Premier League leaders this term, scoring three times while he had made just ten appearances beforehand, spending most of his time since signing from Saprissa out on loan in spells with Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiakos and Villareal.

The twenty-three-year-old is once again set to start for Arsene Wenger’s side as they travel to Liverpool on Wednesday evening, where victory for the visitors could see them extend their lead at the top of the table.

The North London outfit have not won the league in twelve years, but can be backed at a price of 5/4 to do so this season.
