Arsenal, Leicester battle for Roque Mesa

Cope Las Palmas has moved to reveal that Arsenal and Leicester City are among clubs showing interest in Las Palmas midfielder Roque Mesa.

The 27-year-old has largely impressed since helping the team gain promotion to the elite division and he has seen his name linked with top European clubs of late.

Mesa was close to joining Sevilla in the summer, but the two clubs were unable to agree on a transfer fee, although he could realise a big club move after all.

Namely, Cope Las Palmas claims that Premier League giants Arsenal and Leicester City have been in contact with Las Palmas over a January transfer.

Mesa has a contract until June 2020 with his current employers and a €30 million release clause, but Las Palmas plan to offer him a new deal.

Since the team returned to Spanish La Liga, Roque Mesa has made 38 appearances for the club, scoring 1 goal in the process.
